Enjoy the benefits of yoga therapy from the comfort of your own home.  These creative movement classes will move you through all the ranges of motion in your joints, creating more freedom of movement and a reduction of pain and tension.  Classes will vary and may include strength, mobility and balance work in a sequenced way that will remind you of a yoga class.  Suitable for all levels and conditions.

Building a Strong and Resilient Core

There are a lot of ideas floating around out there about how to strengthen your core.  One of the most important things to get clear on however, is how you even define core strength.  Are you strong because you have a six pack?  Are you not strong because you don’t?

To me, core is about being able to respond to what is happening around you.  If you get bumped and don’t fall - that is a function of your core.  Core is something that arises because your body is in balance.  It is something that needs to be given space to respond.  It is a place where strength, ease and resiliency co-exist.

Many core “strengthening” exercises out there start at step 10 of a 10 step process (so to speak, I don’t actually have a number). So what often happens is a lot of bracing, breath holding and tension.

In this unique, 4 week course we will work on mobility and strength skills and build them from step one.  We will start with resistance bands and weights and progress to body weight.  Each class will be recorded and the first 20 minutes of the class will be your exercise routine for the week. The remaining time will be a fun, yoga-style practice incorporating what you’ve learned.

Restore Your Core

If you are wondering about the health of your pelvic floor, feeling disconnected from your center or feeling off balance in any way, this 6-week session is for you. This unique session will deepen your understanding of your internal structure of support, utilizing breathing techniques, therapeutic exercises and the tools of yoga including poses, mindfulness and meditation to begin to create a sense of a stable center. You will learn, and experience, how a body in balance invokes a core stability that increases energy, decreases pain and improves your overall sense of well being. Each class will end with a guided, deep relaxation to reduce stress and improve vitality. In order to support home practice in between classes, I will be recording each session and providing downloadable audio files. In addition there will be an online hub to ask questions, watch short videos and share any comments you'd like to with your classmates. I will check the site daily and answer questions.
