Slow Yoga for High Performance
Monday's: 9:00 - 10:00 am
Pushing through pain will only lead to more pain and will, very likely, eventually take you out of that activity you love. It isn’t the fault of age, it isn’t a natural life progression to go on a downhill slide. You can engage in high performance activity for a long time - but you have to be smart about it. Things like slowing down in off time, learning to pay attention to your breath and quieting your nervous system through meditation and novel movement are all essential tools to stay in the game. These facts apply whether you have a super stressful job, are a gardening enthusiast, avid hiker, golfer, distance runner or biker. Repetitive activity requires that you give your body and mind opportunities to work in different and supportive ways. This is not a zero sum game, you can be active and pain free. There’s no clock ticking, it all simply comes down to balance. Join me for this class that is all about balance - in breath, movement and stillness.
Tuesday's and Thursday's: 9:00 - 10:00 am
Traditional Ashtanga yoga follows a set sequence of poses in a precise order, and is a dynamic yet meditative practice. You'll receive many benefits to both body and mind. This class will be for all levels. With Sharyl's expert guidance, you can expect a slower more instructional practice and a great opportunity to focus on your breath.
Group classes are held in Invermere, BC at 1, 755 - 13 Street
unless otherwise noted.

Restore Your Core
If you are wondering about the health of your pelvic floor, feeling disconnected from your center or feeling off balance in any way, this 6-week session is for you. This unique session will deepen your understanding of your internal structure of support, utilizing breathing techniques, therapeutic exercises and the tools of yoga including poses, mindfulness and meditation to begin to create a sense of a stable center. You will learn, and experience, how a body in balance invokes a core stability that increases energy, decreases pain and improves your overall sense of well being. Each class will end with a guided, deep relaxation to reduce stress and improve vitality. In order to support home practice in between classes, I will be recording each session and providing downloadable audio files. In addition there will be an online hub to ask questions, watch short videos and share any comments you'd like to with your classmates. I will check the site daily and answer questions.
